Elegant Eta History
Eta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc was founded at Northwestern University on December 14, 1927. Its charter members were Pearl Davis, Mayme Bush, Edith Binn, Cynthia Jenkins, Marie Hardy and Isabella Simpson. The Elegant Eta Chapter was the first NPHC Sorority chartered on Northwestern's campus. It is also the 1st Sigma Gamma Rho Chapter in the Chicagoland area!
*Did you know that in 1950, Central Region hosted regional conference at Northwestern University in Abbott Hall?
*Did you know the women of Eta Chapter went on to create the 1st Alumnae Chapter in Chicagoland area known as the "DYNAMIC" Delta Sigma Chapter in Chicago, Illinois?
*Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter is the Advising Graduate Chapter over Eta.

Elegant Eta
The Elegant Eta chapter began its journey on the campus of Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) in 1927. Eta chapter was a phenomenal asset to the NU campus. These women believed in the GREATER outcome of their commitment, service, education and sisterhood.
Eta chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. last graced Northwestern campus in 2004. Being a Sigma Gamma Rho takes hard work and dedication. The Elegant Eta Chapter took the time build a foundation on NU campus.
On December 3, 2014 two women, Soror Qunsia Daniel & Soror Crystal Lennix (Double Legacy) upheld the TORCH to be members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and reactivated the Eta Chapter after a ten year absence
under the advisement of Delta Sigma Alumnae and their Advisor Soror Lori Marshall.
