Eta Chapter History
The Elegant Eta chapter began its journey on the campus of Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) in 1927. Eta chapter was a phenomenal asset to the NU campus. These women believed in the GREATER outcome of their commitment, service, education and sisterhood.

The Eta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc was founded at Northwestern University on December 14, 1927. Its charter members were Pearl Davis, Mayme Bush, Edith Binn, Cynthia Jenkins, and Marie Hardy. The Elegant Eta Chapter was the first NPHC Sorority chartered on Northwestern's campus. It is also the 1st Sigma Gamma Rho Chapter in the Chicagoland area!
